Little libraries are popping up everywhere these days and thanks to the Oneonta Rotary Club, there are now three more in the City of Oneonta. The idea of the little library is to take a book and leave a book. This of course gives encourages reading and it's free to participate.

As part of Rotary's Centennial celebration, club members Dave Rowley, John Maine, and President Carlton Cleveland installed a little library at Valleyview Elementary School, Riverside Elementary School, and Greater Plains Elementary School with photos posted on the Oneonta Rotary Club's Facebook page. Check out a few photos...

This is Oneonta Rotary's final Centennial Project to be completed, honoring 100 years of service in the Oneonta community. If you want to learn more about the club's history, there is a great window display at the Oneonta History Center with plenty of details, paying homage to Rotary's 100th birthday. Below is a photo of the display.

Most people think of the Oneonta Rotary Club for the student foreign exchange program which has been going on for many years, however, Oneonta Rotary is a service organization that does much more than that as we can see with the club's little library project. If you follow Oneonta Rotary Club on Facebook, you can see the ways in which these volunteers work to enhance our community.
