Trucks and Tunes: The Detroit Lakes Noon Rotary Club is sponsoring an evening of food, fun and live music at the Detroit Lakes City Park, starting at 5 p.m. A variety of food trucks will be gathered in the parking lot until 8 p.m., serving up a host of summer favorites, while over at the bandshell, the JT Kennelly Band will be performing. Admission is free, though the cost of food may vary from truck to truck.

Detroit Lakes Craft Beer Tour: The lakes area's only craft beer event returns to Detroit Lakes' Washington Ball Park, with unlimited beverage sampling, prizes, people's choice voting, commemorative swag and more. Shoreham Chapel Music and Worship: Celise Swanson will be performing as part of worship services at Shoreham Chapel in rural Detroit Lakes, starting at 10:45 a.m. All are welcome.

Color Guard Fundraiser Breakfast: The Lake Region Veterans Color Guard will be hosting a breakfast fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon at the American Legion Club, 810 West Lake Drive, Detroit Lakes. Suggested donation is $8 for a meal including scrambled eggs; pancakes or French toast; sausage or bacon; and coffee or orange juice. Plenty of tables, lots of space. All are welcome.

Outdoor Church Service: Congregational Church UCC of Detroit Lakes will host an outdoor service in celebration of 150 years in the 150-year-old city of Detroit Lakes. The service will take place at 10 a.m. in the Grand Army of the Republic (GAR) Park, 317 Washington Ave., which was the site of the original Congregational Church. Please bring a lawn chair. In case of rain the service will be at the church (900 Lake Ave.).

Trinity Lutheran Church Open House: Detroit Lakes' Trinity Lutheran Church will celebrate its 125th anniversary with an open house from 1-3 p.m. All are welcome to come enjoy tours of the church, refreshments and fellowship.

North Country Trail Presentation: Author Joan Young, who was the first woman to complete the North Country National Scenic Trail on foot in 2010, will be making a presentation on the trail at the Detroit Lakes Public Library at 7 p.m. Open to the public.

Library Club: Information technology specialist Kent Mollberg will be making a presentation on Internet Safety Awareness to the Detroit Lakes Library Club at 2 p.m. in the library's main meeting room. Refreshments and conversation to follow. Open to the public.

Tuesdays in the Park: Larry Swenson performs live as part of Detroit Lakes' Tuesdays in the Park summer concert series at 7 p.m. under the City Park Bandshell. Picnic hosted by Fuller Center for Housing starts at 5:30 p.m. Seating is limited, so bring your own blankets or chairs. Admission is a free will donation; all proceeds from the picnic benefit Fuller Center's local housing projects, while donations for the concert go to support the artists.

Open Acoustic Jam: Bring your acoustic instruments and go to the Detroit Lakes Public Library for an unplugged jam session, starting at 5 p.m.

Remembering Bobby Vee: A tribute concert in honor of the Minnesota music legend, presented by The Killer Vees (Jeff, Tommy and Matt Vee along with Ar J Stevens and George Maurer), will take place at 7:30 p.m. in Detroit Lakes' Historic Holmes Theatre. Complete with Bobby’s touring string section and cast members from "Teen Idol: The Bobby Vee Story" helping out on background vocals, the show will feature video and stories from Bobby’s career along with all the hits. Macaws for Paws: The Lakes Area Parrot Heads will be raising money for the Marshmallow Animal Shelter with their 9th Annual Macaws for Paws event, 5:30-9 p.m. at Zorbaz in Detroit Lakes. Ole's Ride: The 13th Annual Ole's Ride for Hospice departs at noon from Billy's Corner Bar in Vergas, with registration from 10-11:30 a.m. A meal, silent auction and live music by The Fat Cats follow the ride through Minnesota lakes country. Wolf Lake Harvest Festival: The community of Wolf Lake will host its 39th Annual Harvest Festival on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 19-20.
