Haddonfield Plays and Players will present “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” a ghost tour, musical and horror story, at 5 p.m. Oct. 27 to 29.

Guests will be immersed in the world of Sleepy Hollow as they literally follow Ichabod Crane as he meets the Headless Horseman.

The event will take participants through the streets of Haddonfield beginning at the Indian King Tavern and ending at the Historical Society and cemetery across the street.

The Bay Atlantic Symphony will welcome audiences to its 2021-22 concert season, with the theme “Alive, Together and With You,” to celebrate the return of live symphonic music in Southern New Jersey. Music Director Jed Gaylin’s inspired selections and varied concert programs are sure to delight both young and old.

The season opens with “The Four Seasons!,” by composer Antonio Vivaldi who calls this, “The trial between harmony/euphony and invention,” his great experiment of expression.

Violin soloist Irina Muresanu will be featured. Her versatility from classics to contemporary is renown.

Concerts will be presented at 3 p.m. Oct. 30 in the Frank Guaracini Jr. Fine and Performing Arts Center on the campus of Rowan College of South Jersey-Cumberland in Vineland and at 2 p.m. Oct. 31 in the Performing Arts Center at Stockton University in Galloway.

In addition to “The Four Seasons” program, the symphony will also perform the music of American composer Carlos Simon and Grieg’s homage to the Baroque in “Holber’s Suite.”

Masks are required and patrons are encouraged to be vaccinated.

The Mauricetown Historical Society will host a Ghost Tour at 7 p.m. Oct. 30. Guests are invited to walk the dimly-lit streets of the quaint sea-faring village as guides tell stories of sea captains and some very “unfortunate” residents.

The tour begins at the Compton House at 1229 Front St.

Tickets are $15 and include doughnuts and cider after the tour.

Whitesbog Preservation Trust will host a Spooky Halloween Trail event from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 30. In case of heavy rain, the event will be held on Oct. 31.

The 5 p.m. timeslot is recommended for “littles” and others who don't like to get too scared. Other time slots are for the brave. There will not be anything bloody or gory.

Band of the Hawk and other special guests will haunt the trails.

In addition to the walk, there will be a Haunted Wagon Ride to the Bog and back with the Pinelands Antique Engine Association tractor drivers.

Plus, there will be music and a campfire with S’mores. Cider, hot chocolate and doughnuts will also be available. 

Timed tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children and must be purchased in advance.

Mill Race Theatrical Company will host Cartoon Night, featuring vintage, family-friendly Halloween cartoons, on Oct. 30 in the parking lot of the Eagle Foundry.

Glassboro's fourth annual Fall Festival Trunk or Treat, in partnership with Kingsway Church Glassboro, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31.

The evening will begin with a Trunk-or-Treat on Rowan Boulevard and continue with DJ music, interactive stations, inflatable games, coffin selfies, playful ghosts, a haunted boneyard and other festivities on the Glassboro Town Square.

Trunk-or-Treat vehicles will include more than 50 police, fire, ambulance and other vehicles packed with candy and treats.

Cape May County Zoo will host Boo at the Zoo, sponsored by the Cape May County Board of Commissioners, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 30.

Visitors of all ages are invited to wear a costume to this fun family event, which includes activities for kids, a craft station, games, candy, entertainment, animals, an inflatable obstacle course, a pirate ship and more.

Registration for the costume contest begins at 10 a.m. The contest starts at 11 a.m. Awards presentation will follow.  

The Cape May Dancers performance at noon will be followed by a live animal show. Master DJ & Sound will be rocking the event with Halloween tunes.

There will also be opportunities to see special Halloween Animal Enrichment throughout the zoo.

Battleship New Jersey will host a Moonlight Adult Tour: Halloween Edition, for ages 21 and older, from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29.

Experience an “adult-oriented” tour during the evening hours. Led by the Battleship’s curatorial team, this tour will include stories of some of the more gruesome events that took place on board the ship.

Also, guests may enjoy a cold beer, glass of wine or a soft drink on the Main Deck Portside area to watch the sun set over Philadelphia.

Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts invites children ages 5 to 13 to visit from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 for some pumpkin art fun.

Children will have an opportunity to decorate a paper mache pumpkin, while supplies last, with paint and more, and to paint fun Halloween scenes. Children will also receive Halloween stickers.

Showboat Hotel has Halloween plans for adults and children.

For adults, the plan features SIN-AC from 10 p.m. Oct. 30 to 3 a.m. Oct. 31. The hotel will be transformed into a “sexy and spooktacular haunted house for the largest Halloween party on the East Coast.”

The party will be hosted by TheOfficialJT, and will feature music with DJ Kid Roc, DJ Caution and DJ Jovi. Halloween revelers can expect goblins, ghouls and surprise guest celebrities. Plus, famous Hollywood movie monsters, zombies and creepy clowns will be in attendance.

Celebrate a family-friendly Halloween Weekend at the Museum of the American Revolution from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31.

Learn how early Americans carved turnips, not pumpkins, to ward off evil spirits, explore the interactive Revolution Place discovery center, and view “Liberty: Don Troiani’s Paintings of the Revolutionary War.”

A museum educator will discuss 18th-century folk customs that might remind you of today’s Halloween rituals and demonstrate how early Americans carved turnips instead of pumpkins from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31 in the museum’s rotunda.

Check out the Revolution Place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and 31. This area brings to life Old City’s neighborhood during the 1700s and invites visitors to learn through hands-on exploration. Kids of all ages can immerse themselves in four historical environments, a military encampment, a tavern, a parlor, and an 18th-century meeting house, to experience the places where the American Revolution took root.

Also, everyone is invited to create a revolutionary jack-o-lantern with five custom pumpkin-carving stencils, featuring designs inspired by art and artifacts in the museum’s collection which are available online.

Timed tickets are $51 for a family of four, $19 for ages 18 to 64 in advance or $21 at the door, $13 for ages 6 to 17, free for ages 5 and younger, $18 for ages 65 and older, students, teachers and active military, and $25 for any day tickets.

Children ages 6 to 12 and younger may wear a costume to the museum and receive $2 off admission at the door.

The Ocean City Skate Park will celebrate Halloween from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 30.

The cult classic parodies science fiction and horror B-movies mixed in with sex, drugs and rock and roll. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Bourre’s Halloween revelers can join the star-studded cast on screen and the local cast on stage as they perform the iconic “Time Warp” and the rest of the memorable soundtrack.

The movie has a long history of audience interaction, through an alternate script complete with props, which spread virally shortly after the film’s release in 1975.
